The essential oil yield from steam-distilled gardenia flower is very low. Massive amounts of gardenia flowers are required to produce a small amount of gardenia essential oil. Like jasmine essential oil, the beautiful fragrance of the gardenia essential oil is also a valuable perfuming ingredient.
